A short biography of the photographic achievments

Tomasz Sobecki – born in Toruń.

A vast number of his exhibitions were shown in prestigious Polish art and photography galleries. Numerous individual exhibitions were displayed abroad in European countries (England, Switzerland, Finland) and in the USA.

Tomasz Sobecki took part in the international collective exhibitions in Belgium, Germany and Japan. He was the Polish art representative on the International Art Festival in Caracas, Venezuela.

Art Scholarships:

  • 1990 – the scholarship founded by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs
  • 1991–1993 – the scholarship founded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage

  • THE CITY – 1992, The Colour of the Wind – 1996
  • In 2002, Tomasz Sobecki invited Franciszek Starowiejski to an artistic dialogue, which was realised in Nowy Arsena³ - an art gallery in Toruń. The main aim of the dialogue was based on exploring the relation between a portrait and an auto portrait.

Tomasz Sobecki has participated in numerous Polish, as well as international, symposia of photographers and designers.

His works are to be found in collections of Art Museum in £ód¼, District Museum of Toruń, Gallery of Contemporary Sacral Art in Kielce, as well as in private and other public collections, both in Poland and abroad. Inter alia in Coventry, Great Britain and Äänekoski, Finland, New York, USA.
